skeleton puppet
A rod style puppet inspired by depictions of skeletons in late medieval danse macabre prints. Constructed from upholstery foam, nylon fleece and screen printed cotton flannel.
Process
I initially patterned and constructed the puppet in upholstery foam. The hand and head portions utilized modified versions of patterns available on Adam Kreutinger's website, while I patterned the body and feet myself to achieve the desired shapes. Once the puppet was constructed, I patterned my screen prints off of its body and inked them on Dura-lar film. The drawings were then exposed onto a screen and screen printed. I then stitched the printed graphics onto the body of the puppet.
